O SCP não funciona quando o echo está no .bashrc?

Eu tenho dois usuários no Fedora:

Waniroot (bem óbvio!)

Meu conteúdo de .bashrc do usuário Wani é:

# .bashrc
echo "Hello"
# Source global definitions
if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then
    . /etc/bashrc
fi

# User specific aliases and functions

Agora, depois de efetuar login na raiz, eu digito os seguintes comandos:

[root@Dell Wani]# touch try.txt
[root@Dell Wani]# service sshd start
[root@Dell Wani]# scp try.txt Wani@localhost:~/
Wani@localhost's password: 
Hello
[root@Dell Wani]#

Agora eu entro no Wani e digito:

[Wani@Dell ~]$ cat try.txt
cat: try.txt: No such file or directory
[Wani@Dell ~]$

Agora eu novamente logar na raiz e digite o mesmo comando com-v:

[root@Dell Wani]# scp -v morph.log Wani@localhost:
