Confiabilidade da conexão do cliente Paho MQTT (reconectar ao desconectar)

Qual é a maneira mais confiável de usar o cliente Python Paho MQTT? Quero poder lidar com interrupções de conexão devido a quedas de WiFi e continuar tentando reconectar até obter êxito.

O que tenho é o seguinte, mas existem práticas recomendadas às quais não estou aderindo?
