Eu tentei instalar o json gem no Windows. Eu instalei o DevKit. Eu recebo o seguinte erro abaixo. Alguma sugestão? Essa questão

JSON Gem não será instalado (Windows)

sugere instalar o DevKit e também tentar usar o json_pure. Eu fiz os dois. O problema é que a instalação do meu pacote está tentando instalar o json e não prosseguirá até que o json seja instalado. Este é um pacote de instalação para um projeto Rails btw.
