¿Cómo se puede interpretar el error 'Cliente encontrado tipo de contenido de respuesta de' texto / html '?

Estoy usando C # y conectándome a un servicio web a través de un objeto proxy de C # generado automáticamente. El método al que estoy llamando puede ser de larga duración, y algunas veces se agota. Recibo diferentes errores de vuelta, a veces me sale unSystem.Net.WebException o unSystem.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException. Estas excepciones tienen propiedades que puedo consultar para encontrar el tipo específico de error desde el cual puedo mostrar una versión amigable para el usuario.

Pero a veces solo consigo unaInvalidOperationException, y tiene el siguiente mensaje. ¿Hay alguna forma en que pueda interpretar lo que es esto sin escarbar en la cadena de las cosas que reconozco, que se sienten muy sucias y que no son agnósticas de la internacionalización? El mensaje de error puede aparecer en otro idioma.

Editar: Tengo un try-catch alrededor del método en el servidor web. Lo he depurado, y el método del servidor web regresa (después de un minuto aproximadamente) sin excepción. También agregué un controlador de excepciones no manejado en el servicio web y un punto de interrupción que no fue afectado. Tan pronto como el servicio web vuelve, recibo este error en el cliente en lugar del resultado que esperaba.
