Alterar LayoutParams de Cabeças de bate-papo sempre visíveis para nem sempre visíveis

Estou tentando adicionar uma exibição que estou gerando por meio de um serviço. O código que estou usando é baseado emFacebook Chatheads sempre visíveis, independentemente do estado dos aplicativos. Eles também são exibidos acima de qualquer outra coisa:

Agora, desejo restringir o cabeçalho do bate-papo ao aplicativo ativo. Especificamente, estou lidando com uma exceção de token inválido sempre que altero o Window.LayoutParams de TYPE_PHONE para TYPE_DRAWN_APPLICATION.

MINHA PERGUNTA: Eu sei que sou obrigado a passar o token de janela correto para o LayoutParams, mas não consigo descobrir como fazer isso corretamente. Qualquer conselho seria muito apreciado.

Algum conselho sobre como limitar o cabeçalho do bate-papo à janela do aplicativo sem que ele permaneça na tela quando o aplicativo estiver em Pausa?
