Como o Secure Transport TLS deve ser usado com soquetes BSD no Swift?

Estou tentando usarTransporte seguro com soquetes BSD usando Swift. Parece que deve ser bastante simples, mas não consigo fazê-lo funcionar e a documentação sobre o assunto é escassa.

Eu reduzi meu problema a uma classe simples "Socket", na qual (dentro do meu conhecimento) atendi aos requisitos do Transporte Seguro.

Testei a comunicação de soquete não TLS criando uma instância simples:

socket.connect().sendHello()

e executando um servidor de eco na máquina de destino usando o netcat. Isso funciona bem.

nc -l -p 8080

A tentativa de quebrar o soquete no TLS do Secure Transport (chamando o método makeSecure ()) trava na chamada para SSLHandshake (...) com um erro EXC_BAD_ADDRESS (código = 2, endereço = ...). Alguém tem alguma indicação do que estou perdendo aqui?
