Isso está me matando

O que eu tenho? Versão do CI: 2.1.4 Modular Extensions - HMVC da wiredesignz, um projeto básico do codeigniter (hmvc) que funciona bem com a configuração existente no servidor local (mamp) com o php 5.5.3

meu problema depois de mover o projeto para o servidor público da web, mudei as seguintes coisas. —Application / config / config.php

como minha página de índice será a função de índice do módulo 'home', não toquei no arquivo routes.php na pasta application / config. abaixo estão as configurações para routes.php

O PROBLEMA sempre que tentar acessarhttp://example.com/ eu recebo a mensagem abaixo

404 Página não encontrada A página solicitada não foi encontrada.

Eu recebo a mesma mensagem se eu tentar example.com/home, mas example.com/welcome ainda dá as boas-vindas à página codeigniter

O QUE ESTÁ ACONTECENDO!!!??? por que não consigo acessar qualquer página da minha página a partir de módulos? o que eu perdi ?? alguém mais está recebendo esse problema?

ps: meu cpanel tem php 5.3.27 se isso ajuda
