Eu estava preso a este erro durante um longo tempo:

Eu só entendo o que eu entendi mal, é algo sobre uma diferença entre uma seqüência unicode e uma string 'simples', eu tentei usar o código acima com uma seqüência de caracteres "normal", enquanto eu tive que passar um unicode. Então esquecendo o simples "u" antes que a string estivesse quebrando a execução: / !!!

BTW o TypeError foi muito claro para mim e ainda é.

por favor, alguns podem me explicar o que estava faltando e por que uma string "simples" NÃO é um "objeto de buffer de caractere"?
