Problema de configuración de SSL con Spring-SAML

Estoy tratando de configurar un SP basado en "spring-security-saml2-sample", pero cuando implemento el archivo WAR en Tomcat obtengo la siguiente excepción:

Entiendo que la excepción se debe a que los certificados autofirmados IdP (Oracle OIF) no se importan correctamente en el almacén de claves. La URL de federación está protegida con SSL, por lo que ya he incluido el certificado SSL en el almacén de claves (samlKeystore.jks). También he incluido el certificado OIF utilizado para firmar las respuestas de aserción SAML.

Supongo que los certificados SSL para el servicio de metadatos IdP deben agregarse a samlKeystore.jks, ¿es así? ¿Se necesita alguna configuración adicional para manejar SSL?
