Estoy tratando de limpiar un poco mi código creando un método de extensión para manejar el filtrado genéricamente.

Aquí está el código que estoy tratando de limpiar.

if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(companyName))
    queryResult = queryResult.Where(ex => SqlFunctions.PatIndex(companyName.Trim(), ex.CompanyName.Trim()) > 0);
if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(phone))
    queryResult = queryResult.Where(ex => SqlFunctions.PatIndex(phone.Trim(), ex.Phone.Trim()) > 0);

    queryResult = queryResult.Where(ex => SqlFunctions.PatIndex(email.Trim(), ex.Email.Trim()) > 0);

Claramente es muy repetitivo. Así que intenté crear un método de extensión que se filtrara por una propiedad utilizando la reflexión. Aquí está el método.

                        BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.Instance | BindingFlags.IgnoreCase).GetValue(ex)) > 0
                    );
    }
}

y se llamará así:

var queryResult = (from r in dc.Retailers select r);
queryResult.FilterByValue("firstname", firstName);

Pero, recibo un error cuando se ejecuta el linq, indicando que "GetValue" no se reconoce en linq a entidad.

Entonces, ¿hay alguna otra manera de limpiar esto, o tengo que dejarlo feo?
