Notificación de un servicio

Notificación de un servicio

Estoy intentando mostrar una notificación simple cuando se recibe un mensaje C2DM. Los servicios se proporcionan a la interfaz de usuario, pero aún se ejecutan en el hilo principal. He visto a personas decir que puedes crear y mostrar notificaciones desde un servicio.

No tengo idea de por qué se está lanzando esta excepción.
