Tentando configurar uma instalação limpa do Mac os X 10.6 para desenvolver python / django e não me lembrava de ter encontrado isso na 10.5.

Após instalar o MySQL a partir do instalador nomysql-5.5.8-osx10.6-x86_64.dmg Eu corri

$ sudo pip install MySQL-python

e pareceu funcionar sem problemas (saída abaixo)

depois disso eu tentei:

$ python -c "import MySQLdb"

e me cagou com:

Então, para a minha pergunta ...

O que fiz de errado? / O que mais preciso fazer?

Pesquisando no Google (e pesquisando aqui) retorna muitos resultados, recebendo essa mensagem de erro com Ruby e não muitos com o Python tho.
