Quero implementar uma gaveta de navegação e tentar entender como funciona. Testei o navigationDrawerActivity que podemos escolher no Android Studio com um activity_main da seguinte maneira:

Portanto, não entendo por que é diferente entre o android studio e o doc. Você pode me dizer por que existe essa diferença? E o documento usa fragmento, enquanto a atividade do Android Studio não.
