imagem android imagespan é um erro de corte no singleline textview

Eu uso o ImageSpan para exibir a imagem no textview. O TextView é sinlgline com elipsize final. Quando a imagem está no final da visualização de texto e não há espaço suficiente para ela. Eu acho que deveria exibir "...". Mas ele exibe parte da imagem. A imagem está cortada por engano.

o xml:

<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
            xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
            android:layout_width="match_parent"
            android:layout_height="match_parent"
            android:paddingLeft="@dimen/activity_horizontal_margin"
            android:paddingRight="@dimen/activity_horizontal_margin"
            android:paddingTop="@dimen/activity_vertical_margin"
            android:paddingBottom="@dimen/activity_vertical_margin"
            tools:context=".MainActivity"
android:orientation="vertical">

    <EditText
    android:id="@+id/edittext"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content"/>

    <Button
    android:id="@+id/btn"
    android:layout_width="wrap_content"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content"
    android:text="insert image"/>

    <TextView
    android:id="@+id/text"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content"
    android:singleLine="true"
    android:ellipsize="end"/>
</LinearLayout>
