Android: como criar um player de vídeo?

Estou criando um gravador de vídeo e gostaria de criar um player de vídeo para visualizar os vídeos gravados. Modificando o códigodesta página Eu criei uma classe MediaPreview da seguinte maneira:

O código é executado com sucesso (sem exceções)until mp.start();, mas a tela está em branco (existem apenas botões na tela).

Alguém sabe o que poderia estar errado no código acima ou existe algum exemplo que funciona disponível na web?
