Como ajustar as colunas JTable para ajustar o conteúdo mais longo nas células da coluna

Estou usando respostahttps://stackoverflow.com/a/5820366 ehttp://tips4java.wordpress.com/2008/11/10/table-column-adjuster/ e funciona, mas frequentemente os tamanhos das colunas são muito largos ou muito estreitos.

Não importa de preencher minha tabela com HTML ou texto.

Usando padrãoTableModel da documentação da oracle.

Modo de redimensionamento = JTable.AUTO_RESIZE_OFF

O contêiner da minha mesa é jGoodies:

Eu tenho esse problema com o ajuste de altura de linha. Uso de<pre>\n</pre> ao invés de<br> ajuste de linha fixa.
