Google Map V3 .png groundoverlay opacidad

He creado mi primera API de Google Map con superposiciones de png (gracias a @andresf por su asistencia).

Este mapa tiene múltiples superposiciones de terreno png adyacentes entre sí y se puede ver enhttp://www.earthstation.mobi/coverage.htm

Pregunta: ¿Cómo configuro la opacidad (transparencia?) En cada superposición para poder ver los detalles del mapa debajo de la superposición? No necesito ajustar esto desde la página web, bastará con un preset codificado en el script.
