O aplicativo AWS IoT Android sobre MQTT lança MqttException (0) - java.io.IOException: já está conectado

Estou tentando usar 'Autenticar usando o Cognito-Identity with Cognito user pool' no meu aplicativo Android. A autenticação do meu pool de usuários Cognito funciona bem quando eu executo isso separadamente e também vejo um JWTToken. Quando executo o aplicativo de exemplo 'PubSub' com função Não autenticada, ele funcionou conforme o esperado. Quando integro esses dois recursos em um aplicativo, o aplicativo gera o seguinte erro.

Eu tenho tentado resolver esse problema desde a última quinta-feira e ainda estou preso no mesmo local. Realmente não tenho idéia de onde devo verificar.!

Estou adicionando minha atividade de autenticação (autenticação do pool de usuários do Cognito) e a atividade do Connect.

O que há de errado no meu código? Por que lança exceção quando a conexão MQTT está sendo chamada? Qualquer ajuda seria apreciada.
