Presentation materials and recording

I finished my presentation to the Online ColdFusion Meetup Group a little while ago, and I think it went well. The presentation was about different ways to effectively stop spam bots. Here are my slides, and here is the recording of the presentation. And if you want to get the code I showed in the presentation, it's all part of my open source project CFFormProtect.

The presenation was fun, and we had a lot of good participation. Thanks to all that attended, and if you couldn't make it, be sure to check out the recording.

One additonal protective measure you can do is strip HMTL from posts. While it may not be suitable for all sites, removing the HTML that makes links possible makes placing ads much less worthwhile.

Hi, I attended the Meetup last week and really enjoyed it -- very timely and insightful. I'd been finishing up a custom captcha system, but your comments inspired me to take a look at CFFormProtect. I just downloaded it and was really happy with how quickly it installed onto CF5 servers. Better yet, it works *perfectly*. Thanks again!
